Our Programs

We have trades consultants who provide outreach services to the Merritt, Lillooet, Lytton, Salmon Arm, Barriere and Kamloops area. To meet with a trades’ consultant the first step is to meet with an Employment Counselor in your area to develop a RTWAP. The Employment Counselor will refer to CITAC so that we can work with the client to develop a trade career action plan.

CITAC has three programs:

1. Targeted Initiative Older Worker Program (TIOW)- for persons 50 to 64 years of age

2. Trades Initiative Program- for persons 16 to 64 years of age

3. Aboriginal Strategic Initiative Funding for eligible Aboriginal Clients.

How the programs works:

1st attend a CITAC Orientation Session (there is an orientation session every Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:45am) to see if the programs are right for you

2nd determine which CITAC program you would like to enroll

3rd get a referral from an Employment Service Agency if you want to participate in the Trades Initiative program

4th meet with a trade consultant and develop a trade career action plan
